Sleep Patterns

Sleep Patterns

Light has a big impact on the biological clock and the products on this site provide light sources thay may help with sleep and wakefulness problems. This page coupled with the page on sleep problems identifies common problems and helps you to assess whether light might be of benefit.

There are four sections: 1) the 'clock profiler' aims to identify whether you have 'lark' (early to bed and early to rise) or 'owl' tendencies. Both can manifest themselves as insomnia, for example a 'lark' will always wake up early, so this may seem like early morning awakening insomnia. 2) The insomnia detector which aims to identify whether you have an insomnia which may not be clock related, 3) The Epworth Sleepiness Scale which quantifies your level of sleepiness and lets you know if you think you should see a physician, and finally 4) a light / sleep pattern advisor which advise you when to use the lights.
